Do you also often need the terminal for some little actions? Because I don't need it very often there's no need to have terminal all time running in background. But then, if I need it, it's some clicks away and I have to close window and app afterwards. This is why I created "terminalChat". It's a Konfabulator widget at your desktop that has a line for your shell-commands and some space for the terminal output. It reminds to a chat window - this is why I called it "terminalChat". If you don't use it, you can collapse the whole window to a small line, and if there's something to handle with the MacOS X, "terminalChat" is ready after one click!
