X is a complex 'autotyper' that allows you to take partially downloaded video files of many formats and play them using the appropriate application prior to completing the download. Of course it will only allow you to view the portion that you have downloaded. Currently it supports .mp3, .mov, .moov, .mpg, .mpeg, .avi, .asf, .rm, .ram, .ra, .dat, .3iv, .divx, .dvx, .dcm, .dicm, .dicom, .cue, .wma, and a number of vcd formats. (Yes I know a few of those are the same). Other goodies include a .dms to .dmg fixer. This is a perfect tool for use with Hotline, Carracho, Ircle, Limewire, Mactella, Napster, iSwipe, web browsers, and any other program you may use to download audio/video from the internet. For basic functionality it requires: Apple Quicktime, Apple iTunes, Windows Media Player, and Real Player (All available on Versiontracker). Advanced users may require: Apple Quicktime PRO (commercial), VCD Gear, DivX Player, Intel Indio Video Codecs, Sorenson Video Codecs (commercial), and Dicom Import (demo/commercial). This is a great tool for serial downloaders as it supportss batch processing. We recommend you make a copy of the original file to use with Sneak Preview! X
