SwapSwapVM is an AppleScript application made with Smile written to change the target volume (disk; partition) for the Virtual Memory swapfiles in OS X 10.2.x Jaguar. It has been vigorously tested on various configurations under OS X 10.2.0 through 10.2.4.

SwapSwapVM requires a default installation of OS X 10.2 through 10.2.4 Jaguar (including BSD) and a minimum 832x624 screen resolution.

  • Aqua application interface; made with Smile 2.5.1
  • Ability to use disks with space characters in the name
  • Extensive error handling:
  • -- error handling and checking for autodiskmount
  • -- error handling to safely clear old unused swapfiles
  • -- error handling to safely protect against removed or renamed disks
  • Repairs improper settings installed by other utilities, such as Xupport 1.2.4 and older
  • Includes 'simulation mode' to examine code output before executing
  • Performs logging of sucesses and errors written to /Library/Logs
  • Extensive documentation
