WindOFF is a program that will make it possible to indicate when you want your computer and monitor shut down, closing each program, to a maximum limit of 99 hours, 59 minutes, and 59 seconds (this means 4 days and 4 hours). Example: you can leave your computer Internet-connected from Friday at 6 pm, and indicate that it will shut down on Sunday. You dont have to stay at home, neither you have to be awake on nightime waiting fo your computer finish its tasks or Internet-downloading, in the same way, if you have a TV card, program WindOFF for the hours you want to watch TV from your bed without worry about if you get slept (the computer will shut down by itself).

Dont worry about the state of your computer after shut down because WindOFF can capture diferents screens in JPG format (only 130 Kb each full screen) along the time programed, so you can see what was happend when you restart your computer. This version is the first release on CNET Download.com.

Why do so many (virtually all) software packages think that they are so important that they have to be started automatically every time the computer boots? What is the largest number of "speed access", "update check", "camera download" and whatever other background programs you have ever seen running? Of those, how many did you really need?
