Address Book-to-iCal-Importer. Friend did ask for a tool to remind him of birthdays. iCal already does a good job reminding you of events, and one can maintain birthdays in Address Book, so the only missing link was an Address Book-to-iCal importer. Birthday Scanner X is a freeware tool which imports your birthdays (and other dates) from Address Book to iCal. You can predefine multiple alerts, and get alerted by mail or by message. This version is the first release on CNET Download.com.

Featured Talkback

Why do so many (virtually all) software packages think that they are so important that they have to be started automatically every time the computer boots? What is the largest number of "speed access", "update check", "camera download" and whatever other background programs you have ever seen running? Of those, how many did you really need?
