Jet 4.0 Update: Issues with certain Regional and Language Options on Windows XP (KB913296) provides proper default mapping in the Jet 4.0 Engine to the General (EN-US) LCID for language support added since the release of Windows 2000, and is discussed in Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 913296. Jet 4.0 maintains sorting tables for a fixed list of LCIDs/languages. Many map to a native LCID/sort, while others will map to General (0x409). When a Windows XP system locale (Regional and Language Options ) is set to a LCID/language not in this list, issues may arise. Download this update if you are running applications that utilize the Microsoft Jet 4.0 database engine and will be executing with Regional and Language Options set to an unsupported/new language.

KB913296 contains a table of all LCIDs and Languages that Jet 4.0 currently supports without this download. If you are utilizing a LCID/language not in that list, Microsoft recommends that you download this update. Note that Microsoft is not committing to providing native sorting/code page support for these new languages in Jet 4.0 - what is being provided with this download is corrected mappings to US-EN/General for the LCIDs/Languages not listed in KB913296. Note: If you do not see the language you require as an option, select English. After you install this item, you may have to restart your computer. This version is the first release on CNET Download.com.

The fact is: Software developers today are really designers and not coders. The reason that business anlaysts exist today to model solutions is because they understand the value of designing software before writing it. All too often developers create code that has little value because they do not understand that business classes interact with other classes within the confines of a working model or pattern.
