When you have no Internet, or when the Internet is so slow, wouldn't it be nice to be able to type (example) wikipedia://wiki/Egypt for immediate offline access to a wikipedia article? You will still need to download the wikipedia XML dump for offline use, but you will not need to run neither MySQL nor mediawiki - nor will you need Internet connection (except for viewing the article images, which will not be available offline).
