This free Firefox extension is supposed to let you launch various applications from a single toolbar icon, but it never quite lived up to its full potential.

Launchy's icon sits discreetly on your browser toolbar. Clicking the icon reveals a drop-down menu that lists the applications for quick launch. The only apps that appeared under our menu were Internet Explorer, Notepad, and Wordpad, and each launched very quickly after we clicked on them. The tabbed Options menu listed all of the applications that were recognized by the program, but we weren't able to launch any beyond the three that showed up on the menu. You're also supposed to be able to add applications through your chrome directory, but there aren't any instructions, and a Help menu isn't included.

We've tested a number of toolbars that include the option to create quick-launch capabilities for your favorite apps, but also offer other useful features. This program is designed to do only one thing but its performance wasn't very impressive. It certainly isn't worth the download for the few applications that we were able to launch.
