Widget Manager 1.37

License Free
Requirements Windows XP/Vista, Yahoo Widgets Engine
Downloads 14 Limitations None
Publisher Laurent Cozic File Size 1.3M
Date added 06 Nov 2007 Check your speed

Widget Manager is a dock bar that lets you manage your widgets in a simple and intuitive way. You can drag and drop any number of files or a folder on it to import your widgets. If the widget as a first launch icon associated to it, Widget Manager will try to extract it and use it as an icon. Alternatively you can assign a custom icon by right-clicking the widget.

The Widget Manager works in a way similar to iTunes in that it will store all your widgets, icons, and configuration files in single location to make it easier to manage your collection or to make a backup of it. Version 1.37 improved scrolling of the Widget list. Added a special mode targeted at Widget developers: it is now possible to see a Widget source code by right-clicking on it and selecting Show Widget source.

Why do so many (virtually all) software packages think that they are so important that they have to be started automatically every time the computer boots? What is the largest number of "speed access", "update check", "camera download" and whatever other background programs you have ever seen running? Of those, how many did you really need?
