Schedule programs to run automatically at a specific time, shut down your computer, or simply create an alarm with this easy-to-use application, which unfortunately suffers from functionality flaws. Task Butler's clear-cut, neatly designed interface smartly displays created tasks with edit or delete options. The program's Wizard-like functionality shines for each of its features. For flexibility, Task Butler supports daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly intervals for most options.

Each function was fast and effective during our tests, but pull-down menus for selecting shutdown functions or changing the font size just didn't work. Though hardly necessary, we liked the bonus clock screensaver. Task Butler sits on your system tray and consumes insignificant system resources. Users looking for a simple, effective tool to set select automatic tasks will find Task Butler suitable.

In association with Intel
Why do so many (virtually all) software packages think that they are so important that they have to be started automatically every time the computer boots? What is the largest number of "speed access", "update check", "camera download" and whatever other background programs you have ever seen running? Of those, how many did you really need?
