Simply put, RottSomeTime Toolbar gives fast access to some online hot spots, but some sites yield nothing more than a blank page. Like comparable toolbars, this one comes preloaded with a pop-up blocker, weather forecasts, and e-mail notification for Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail, and POP3 accounts. You can even chat with others using Conduit with an easy button press or create a RottSomeTime e-mail account accessible on the bar.

Access to free online virus and spyware scanning is available, but these security tools install ActiveX components to your PC. Links to merchandise at KBToys and PetSmart as well as adult shopping at Frederick's of Hollywood and Playboy are given real estate on the toolbar. However, some links to electronics, collectibles, and more yielded unavailable sites and blank pages. Most other features worked well and we were able to customize the toolbar by removing and adding in launchers for programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and a few Windows components. All in all, Web surfers and shoppers will find this free toolbar worth downloading.

In association with Intel
Why do so many (virtually all) software packages think that they are so important that they have to be started automatically every time the computer boots? What is the largest number of "speed access", "update check", "camera download" and whatever other background programs you have ever seen running? Of those, how many did you really need?
