Xming is a free software port of the X Window Server to Microsoft Windows. It shares its source code base with Cygwin/X but does not depend on the Cygwin environment or cygwin1.dll. Why do so many (virtually all) software packages think that they are so important that they have to be started automatically every time the computer boots?
