This application provides a capable pop-up blocker as well as information lookups from the Web, though we encountered some glitches. After installation, you'll find an additional toolbar on your Internet Explorer browser, which lets you utilize Google, Yahoo, AltaVista, and more to search the Web. My Ad Blockers' skinnable interface is accessible via its system tray icon and lets you easily configure pop-up and ad filter options. Unlike some other utilities in this category, it lets you create an exception list for sites and advertisements. You can set the program to block videos, animations, images, and background sounds. However, it can't block Flash-based animations. Moreover, it provides handy extras like clearing IE's browsing history, cookies, and cache. Also, we like that it finds and highlights keywords on the current page you're viewing. On a positive note, My Ad Blocker did a great job of blocking several unwanted windows and logging blocked advertisements as well, though it failed to prevent some videos from loading. Even so, any level of user will find this 15-day trial program easy to operate and effective at blocking annoying ads and pop-ups.

In association with Intel
Why do so many (virtually all) software packages think that they are so important that they have to be started automatically every time the computer boots? What is the largest number of "speed access", "update check", "camera download" and whatever other background programs you have ever seen running? Of those, how many did you really need?
