Task-O-Matic is a comprehensive task list manager that helps you to quickly organize all of your business or personal notes and to do lists. It uses a fully skinned graphically rich interface with a choice of skins. For each task item, Task-O-Matic optionally allows you to give priority levels, required completion date, estimated number of days to complete, more detailed information and an associated file link. It will automatically sort your list according to the priority of each item and a task will appear at the highest priority level when the project needs to be started. For convenience, Task-O-Matic can now be run in a sidebar mode where it remains hidden but is easily activated by moving your mouse over a tab on the right of your screen. You can have as many different lists as you like, allowing you to separate work from personal interests. This software is helpful as an organizer in aiding you to detail, prioritize, remember and focus your tasks.

Why do so many (virtually all) software packages think that they are so important that they have to be started automatically every time the computer boots? What is the largest number of "speed access", "update check", "camera download" and whatever other background programs you have ever seen running? Of those, how many did you really need?
