Check your speedIf you're a firm believer in empowering the mouse, this app has your name written all over it. SmartMouse is a simple little application that adds a bit more functionality to your mouse while browsing the Web with Internet Explorer. (Unfortunately, it doesn't work with other browsers.)
There's no visible interface, and the help guide is just a Word document, but it offers all the info you'll need to get up and running quickly with SmartMouse's features. By clicking the left or right button and dragging in one direction or another, you can open new browser windows, navigate back or forward, minimize or close windows, and launch links.
Learning the correct moves has only a short learning curve, and the app performed quickly in all our tests. However, one mouse movement for halting the loading of a page caused IE to crash and shut down. Otherwise, we can recommend this free app to anyone tired of clicking buttons who wants to live his or her Internet life with a mouse alone.
