Although one function failed during tests, Aqua Deskperience proves to be a grade-A capturing tool. Using simple hot key presses and mouse clicks we were able to capture words, entire pages, and graphics even where copying has been disabled. The program has a standard interface to configure settings to autorun with Windows and to keep its Google-powered search bar visible, but most of its text and graphics capturing is done via the system tray and menus that automatically appear when specific hot keys are activated. Its spell-check menu option is a direct link to Spellcheck.net, and your captured text is conveniently pasted into the site's text box for checks. We like that the program can copy protected graphics, but it doesn't use the most convenient method. Rather than including a traditional drawing tool, you'll have to use a steady hand to draw a line around the image. Aqua Deskperience's password unmasker to show the letters behind the asterisks of password entry fields is unnecessary, and it didn't work during testing. While we don't advocate the illegal capture of text and images, this application can grab hold of just about anything you need.

Featured Talkback

Why do so many (virtually all) software packages think that they are so important that they have to be started automatically every time the computer boots? What is the largest number of "speed access", "update check", "camera download" and whatever other background programs you have ever seen running? Of those, how many did you really need?
