If you look up into the sky on a clear dark night, far from the intrusive glow of streetlights, you will see a faint band of starlight running across the heavens--the Milky Way. It is actually the disk of our own galaxy seen from our perspective (within the disk). But what if we leave our solar system and the galaxy on a fantastic spaceship and look back to our "space island"? What would we see? This screensaver is an attempt to simulate this fantastic scene as close to reality as possible using modern 3D technologies. You can download a free evaluation copy or purchase the unlimited version to decorate your computer.

We tried to simulate a fascinating space view of the galaxy using the latest astronomical knowledge. Color palettes, spiral galactic structures, dark and glowing nebulae, the position and appearance of the Magellanic Clouds (two tiny galaxies that are satellites of the Milky Way)--every detail has been carefully adjusted to match its actual appearance.

Why do so many (virtually all) software packages think that they are so important that they have to be started automatically every time the computer boots? What is the largest number of "speed access", "update check", "camera download" and whatever other background programs you have ever seen running? Of those, how many did you really need?
