This pop-up blocker offers a number of configuration options and a URL blacklist, but it proves deficient in blocking pop-ups and exhibits a tendency to disappear. After a speedy installation, Popup Killer Agent launches on the desktop with the settings window open. You can configure the sound, add URLs to the blacklist, and set up specific pop-up filters. From Popup Killer Agent's tray icon you can launch Internet Explorer, choose configuration options, or access a content area called ShortSearch. In our pop-up blocker tests, Popup Killer Agent performed poorly, letting a majority of test pop-ups through. Also, because Popup Killer Agent doesn't install a program group on the Start menu, it becomes difficult to restart if you quit the application. We cannot recommend this pop-up blocker because of its poor functionality.

In association with Intel
Why do so many (virtually all) software packages think that they are so important that they have to be started automatically every time the computer boots? What is the largest number of "speed access", "update check", "camera download" and whatever other background programs you have ever seen running? Of those, how many did you really need?
