Reiner Knizia's Samurai is a turn-based strategy game of balance and conquest. Set in pre-unification Japan, the objective of Samurai is to become sovereign by securing influence within three feudal castes through careful placement of your resources, while thwarting your opponents' efforts to do the same. Samurai is an adaptation of the traditional board game of the same name. Although all of the computer game design and interface elements are original, the fundamental game play rules and strategy are true to the board game. Samurai offers a strategic challenge in one of three game play modes: - Single player against one or more computer AI components (of varying strategic challenge) - Multi-player locally, sharing the computer screen with one or more other local players. (Note: you can also select one or two AI opponents to play against the human opponents) - Multi-player networked, pitting your skills against others across a local-area network or the Internet.
