Adobe PageMaker is a consumer-level layout application for both print and electronic delivery. For online publishing, PageMaker offers complete support for Adobe Acrobat and can export directly to Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files. For Web production, PageMaker offers enhanced HTML support and allows users to export pages into HTML complete with hyperlinks, an approximate version of the layout, and automatic image conversion to JPEG or GIF format. For print, PageMaker offers page design tools such as automatic layout adjustment, typographic controls, and object masking, as well as integrated automatic color trapping and separation. PageMaker is fully integrated with other Adobe products, such as Photoshop and Illustrator.

PageMaker 7 provides many new features, including the ability to merge text and graphics stored originally in spreadsheets or databases to create custom publications such as form letters, mailing labels, envelopes, catalogs, and so on.

Why do so many (virtually all) software packages think that they are so important that they have to be started automatically every time the computer boots? What is the largest number of "speed access", "update check", "camera download" and whatever other background programs you have ever seen running? Of those, how many did you really need?
