PageMark is a Macintosh extension that flashes a bar across the window area to let you know where you've left off after scrolling down to the end of a document. Often, as you click to the end of a document, the page only moves by a few lines rather than taking you to a new, previously unseen page, which leaves you to scan over the page again for the new lines at the end. PageMark was designed to rid users of this problem. PageMark also can be configured to flash the marker when scrolling reaches the top of a document, or the left or right margin, with different settings for different applications. The ""flashes"" pop-up menu lets you select the number of flashes; selecting ""no flashes"" will turn off the marker flashes for the selected application. If the ""Persistent bar"" check box is on, PageMark leaves the marker on, clearing it when you press a key or the mouse button. PageMark is useful for browsing Web pages, breezing through lengthy emails, or reading your favorite e-books. PageMark has a 30-day trial period.

In association with Intel
Why do so many (virtually all) software packages think that they are so important that they have to be started automatically every time the computer boots? What is the largest number of "speed access", "update check", "camera download" and whatever other background programs you have ever seen running? Of those, how many did you really need?
